August Update
No events this month, really, but I thought I'd send an update:
POETRY:
I am very pleased to have had five (5) poems - 'Day Dreaming', 'Fresh Argument', 'A whine before sleeping', 'Transit' and 'By yourself, boy' (which can also be seen online on the Oregon literary review: http://orelitrev.startlogic.com/v2n1/OLR-parkes.htm) - selected for the Pendulum anthology that appeared early this year. Pendulum is a classic Brit anthology in the sense that although the cover design is not brilliant it's got work from great poets, such as John Siddique, Fiona Sampson and Pascale Petit. I'm also very happy to have had another poem, Re:configuration published in the PEN International Magazine (the issue is on shelves now and most of it can be seen online at: http://www.internationalpen.org.uk/go/pen-international-magazine). I'm particularly happy because that poem, though one of my favourites, is one of my more experimental ones. Well, I'm putting the second movement of it on my thought movement blog so go and check it out and let me know what you think...
PROSE:
Away from poetry, you'll remember I had my first play, Walking Waterfall, on at the Almeida on August 1 & 2. Well, the experience was so enriching that I've given myself until the end of August to complete my second play - so watch out.
AND, the BIGGEST news, after many months of hoo and hah, MY NOVEL, Tail of the Blue Bird, is now available to pre-order. It's only on amazon for now, but apparently major book stores watch amazon sales to decide how much of a book to stock so please click and support the book. It's the hardback so it's a bit pricey, but amazon have a whopping 34% guaranteed discount on it for advance orders so it's well worth the click. The link is: http://tinyurl.com/5u4tf3
That's it for now. I have some events in October & November that I'll send out news on, but until then, do check out that second movement!
