Spoken Soul is the place where poetry meets soul, they have a drink and go off to make beautiful things. At each show 5 poets pick 2 classic soul songs draw inspiration from them and write new original pieces that are presented to a lively audience. Before the poems are dropped DJ Nevada plays about 30 seconds of the original song, and fades out as the poem kicks in. As the poet leaves the stage, the song comes back on and the audience comes alive. Come and join the fun at the next Spoken Soul where we feature 5 outstanding young writers sharing poetry inspired by the old skool. How cool is that?
